The Few and Cursed is a creator-owned comic book series about people trying to survive a wicked world where most of the water was gone overnight in a mysterious apocalyptic event in 1840.
The Redhead is a hardened survivor that was born in this reality and now fights to protect the innocent. As the land fell into darkness a group of men and women decided to take a stand and fight back, they are known as Curse Chasers.

Hello there!
I'm afraid I don't have much to report regarding The Few and Cursed TPB as I was on a much deserved break during the holidays. This is my first week coming back to work, I'm feeling refreshed and creative so hopefully I will have exciting news soon.
However, I felt it was important to share a quick message and kick off my plan to update you and the project on a monthly basis at least.Â
I might not have anything new to share about the trade but boy oh boy do we have an exciting year ahead of us and lots of announcements to make. So why not get started, right?
SEASON 2 ANNOUNCEMENTS!
As soon as this campaign is fulfilled we will hit the ground running on Season 2 with a number of titles designed to expand The Few and Cursed universe in a huge way.Â
Back when Fabiano Neves and I started working on the Crows of Mana'Olana books we thought we were working on a mini-series but as Chronicles and the board game came along we realized this is a rich universe filled with exciting stories and populated by eccentric characters people wanted to know more about.
While Season 1 was comprised of three titles only (The Crows of Mana'Olana, Chronicles of TFAC and Shadow Nation), we are really doubling down on development of the next season.
Here's what's already in development:
- Brand new six-issue story arc that's a direct sequel to the Crows of Mana'Olana
- Chronicles of the Few and Cursed Vol. 2
- The Few and Cursed: Shadow War
- Untitled new young adult TRILOGY graphic novel series
- Mystery spin-off title
The new six-issue story arc already has a title and has been outlined and I'm thrilled to share we will be introducing a whole new cast of characters. As soon as Fabiano starts working on concepts and designs I will make a bigger announcement \o/
I cannot wait to start announcing more details about all the projects  above. While I will continue to personally oversee the expansion of The Few and Cursed universe I'm thrilled to share I won't exactly be writing all of the above myself and I cannot wait to see what new voices bring to the  table.

Howdy, my friends!
It's been a little over week since our grand finale and I can finally call this Kickstarter campaign complete.Â
All pledges have been collected, unfortunately there were a lot more dropped pledges than I'd have anticipated but hopefully most of the backers will be able to fix whatever was wrong with their payment method and come back to the tally on BackerKit.
Speaking of which I still haven't set a date for BackerKit Surveys to be sent out but it won't be sooner than mid to late February so hang tight, enjoy the holidays and some vacation for those lucky enough to take them.
I for one will take a couple of weeks off between now and January and I could not be more excited about it! I've been working long hours and straight without any weekends or holidays since October 12th so a break is more than welcome \o/
Before that happens though I wanted to share one last update with you all and the latest artwork I've received featuring the Redhead. This will be used as the mini-print sent to all backers that have purchase a hardcover edition of The Few and Cursed: Crows of Mana'Olana.
Please don't mind the text in Portuguese. It will be translated into English for the prints going out to backers of this campaign.
Oh and to those Western fans out there, yes, the artist Gustavo Borges was inspired by the old Lucky Luke comic book covers and wanted to pay them a rightful homage. I hope you like it!

The Rotted Lyre and Apocrypha #1: A Discordia Winter Special
I've been doing these spotlights for a while now and I couldn't let these two projects slide by when their creators were so helpful and really offered a nice extra push on the last couple of days of The Few and Cursed: TPB Kickstarter campaign.
First up is a couple of Discordia spin-offs by good friends over at Dark Tidings Press. I think fans of horror and fantasy will really get a kick out of this one and the project is currently on its way to get 100% funded.
From their own page: "Discordia is the name given to the continent of Odessa that was formerly  controlled by the Concord, a fascist empire that united the people of  Odessa against the monsters that plagued their world. After its  mysterious downfall, reality seemed to shift in the provinces of the  Concord, leading to even more horrific monstrosities than ever existed  before."
Yep, you might remember seeing this one before and that's because it has been spotlighted before but Seb is a very good friend and was kind enough to share The Few and Cursed with backers from all his (really successful) previous campaigns so I wanted to give him another shout out as he heads towards his final week on Kickstarter.
This latest is well over 100% funded and hitting Stretch Goals so make sure to pay it a quick visit. From their own page: "Christmas is in the toilet, and it’s up to Gimble and Kuz to fix it. For  when our little elves get the #$%& beaten out of them by Li'l Joey  Canuggins, the rottenest kid in all the land, and lose Santa’s hat, the  source of all Christmas magic, they have to go on a mission (with the  help of the Red Rogue) to save the world and restore goodwill across the  snowglobe."
And with this, now is the perfect cue to wish all of you Happy Holidays and a terrific 2021 for all of us. I also wanted to thank you yet again for what was certainly one of the brightest highlights of my year, you were all brilliant and this Kickstarter campaign will certainly go down as one of the greats of The Few and Cursed universe.

Thank you so much, from the bottom of my heart please accept my gratitude. In a year like 2020 where we all suffered, we all isolated ourselves, we all made sacrifices, you were all able to bring joy to my life and help me end this crazy year on a high note.

Before I get into the nuts and bolts of everything that comes next allow me to announce the latest Stretch Goals unlocked and yes, I've decided to give a little back to all this overwhelming support you have all shown.
I've decided to unlock one extra story to be added to the book, another "321" short story, this one featuring Shadow Nation's protagonist: LaVerne!

First a little bit of business. Please note your credit cards probably have been charged already and if they haven't they will be in the next few days. If there are any problems Kickstarter will automatically ask for backers to fix the issue and try again for about a week or so.

I cannot help with any payments problems, if you can't seem to fix it on your own please reach out to Kickstarter directly.
If by any chance your pledge gets dropped and you still have an interest in your rewards do not fret, you are still counted as a backer when I send out the Pledge Manager surveys via BackerKit. You will have yet another chance of correcting your payment method and confirm the pledge.

BANG BANG BANG!!!
There goes another three Stretch Goals, way to go, backers, you are the best in the world! Thank you all so much, I'm really appreciative of every dollar pledged, thank you \o/
We now have only four more Stretch Goals to go to unlock everything planned, that is bonkers, completely bonkers. Will we do it? Do we have enough time?
These past few days have been absolutely stunning with so many backers finding The Few and Cursed and enjoying everything we've done so far. I honestly have no idea how far we can go... I'd love to unlock everything planned, I have artists and stories in mind already for all three "321"s...
This late in the game as important as it is to find new backers there's much our current backers can do as well and I always like to bring this up:

As soon as I saw this pop up on Kickstarter I knew I had to back it. Afua Richardson's artwork is absolutely gorgeous and this just looks like a killer of a project not to mention the Image Comics seal of approval.Â
From her their own page: "The Book of Mer follows Astara, a young girl who is plagued by  nightmares that appear to pour into her reality. Can she and her  classmates ward away these evil water spirits? We also meet Welson  Dallas Wallis, an anthropologist suffering from a mysterious illness  that he believes can only be cured by the scales of a Mi'kmaq mythycal  creature."
Myth Division has been putting out some cool books here on Kickstarter and their latest not only is fully funded but also boasts incredible art! The art alone is already worth a visit to their Kickstarter but it also looks fun, go check it out, you won't regret it.

Looks like we are in for a heck of a last week on Kickstarter, aren't we? Even spacing out the Stretch Goals didn't stop you of unlocking more cool stuff to be added to EVERY tier and every package going out in the mail \o/

I cannot thank you all enough for this absolutely amazing campaign and your fantastic support. It's been an unforgettable experience watching us go further and further and I cannot wait to get to work to honor your pledges.
I know there are tons of artists yet to be announced for the cards, prints and whatnot and I promise I will focus 100% on it as soon as the campaign is over. You can expect a lot of news after the KS ends and well into 2021.
THE ROAD TO $190K IS CLEAR & RIGHT IN FRONT OF US
Honestly I thought getting to $100K was nearly impossible when I launched the campaign but then we got there and we never stopped. When I planned the latest phase of Stretch Goals I thought it would be amazing to wrap up the KS with a brand new Redhead story at $150K.
But you know what... you are all so amazing now I want it all, I want to go all the way up to $190K and unlock EVERYTHING we have planned.

Palmiotti & Johnson's POP KILL Issues #3 & #4 FINALE
It's always awesome seeing comic book legends in our corner of the woods here on Kickstarter and believe me when I say both Jimmy Palmiotti and Dave Johnson are legends. They have this title called Pop Kill which already had two successful Kickstarters and they are not pulling any punches for their finale. With over 800 backers and fully funded, this is a must-see project!
From their own page: "Imagine a world where the two dominant and competing Cola companies,  each worth billions, are owned by former Siamese twins who are now  separated and have grown to hate each other so much they hire assassins,  saboteurs, and espionage personnel to meddle with each other on a daily  basis.  This is the story about brotherly love run afoul, and the  people they enlist to do their dirty work."
Sebastian Jones is a good friend, an awesome creator and the main honcho behind Stranger Comics, the publisher behind Niobe and the world of Asunda which is currently in development at HBO. Now this is absolutely bonkers because Niobe was born and bred independently right here on Kickstarter so it says a lot when the company behind Game of Thrones picks up a creator-owned comic book to be adapted into a TV show, yeah, awesome!!
This new project looks like a lot of fun and love myself some Christmas themed content. It funded in 3 hours, it is now chasing Stretch Goals and Seb knows how to deliver'em. From their own page: "‘TIS THE SEASON… So, the jolly folk at  Stranger Comics want you to embark on a winter tale that’ll remind you  what is best in life: LOVE. But also: To crush entitled brats, to see apathetic parents driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of the Karens. So, don’t wait for Santa. Look below and spread some cheer! This year you get to choose what ends up in your stocking!"
