Today here in the US is a day to look back, raise a glass and be thankful. In such a dark year as 2020 this Kickstarter campaign - fueled by YOUR pledges and support - is definitely a shinning light amidst all the darkness.
I'm sure this year wasn't easy for any of us, I particularly had an awful year so far and then The Few and Cursed trade happened and you all showed up and got us to $100K and 27 Stretch Goals unlocked with time on the clock to go even beyond.
I'm really thankful for every dollar pledged, for every backer, for every comment, for all your support and love towards the Redhead and this crazy universe we are building together. I will quickly stroll through the latest Stretch Goals unlocked and then get on with the announcement of a whole new Phase of exciting content \o/
The upgrade in paper stock will cater to both editions of the book, the softcover and hardcover, and the Canvas texture mini-print will be shipped with all rewards being sent in the mail. Some of you have asked about what pledges or edition of the book gets what.
Let me confirm and say again: every single package going out in the mail will have all Stretch Goal items unless it's upgrades specifically for the hardcover or softcover edition.
For instance: the $90K stretch goal above is brand new art for the back-cover of the softcover edition of the book while the $94K and $100K are upgrades specifically for the hardcover edition.
I really tried to find a balance so all backers get something in the editions they picked while obviously making the Collector's Edition a more premium product.
The $99K unlocked Silver Signature Series card is #9 and it completes the series. We have now two full sets of Redhead cards (Gold and Silver) while still working on two more (Emerald and Ruby). If you missed on previous cards do not worry they will be available as add-ons when BackerKit Surveys are sent out after the campaign ends.

STRETCH GOALS PHASE 4!!!
Alright, I will be honest with you all. I was not planning on going over $100K so I had to completely re-do the financial planning and budget for this book. And that led me to space out the SGs in this next phase as the project keeps growing and growing and I'm now realistically looking at over 2.000 parcels going out the mail.
At the same time it really gave me the opportunity to get creative. I didn't want to just do repeats of previous SG items and it also made me think about new content for backers that have been with The Few and Cursed since the very first Kickstarter.
First up was a folded map of the region that the Crows Saga takes place. I love maps and I think they are super helpful in building lore. Since we've done something similar for the board game why not make it official and offer a map?
WHAT'S "321" SHORT COMIC BOOK STORY?
And here's where things got interesting and I really think I got a great idea. A lot of you might not know this but the Redhead was created in a short story for another graphic novel I worked on titled 321: Fast Comics.
I'm super proud of this project, it's an anthology of short stories by a number of fantastic artists that spawned two volumes which unfortunately are sold out and available in digital format only. Every story in the books followed the same concept:
3 Pages
2 Characters
1 Twist Ending
That's Red's birthplace. That was the first time Fabiano and I worked together and we came up with this redheaded gunslinger. We enjoyed the three pages we've done so much Red eventually got her own series which then evolved into her own universe.
So the Stretch Goals at $150K, $180K and $190K are both a return to our origins at the same time they are completely new content to be included in the trade in both editions of the book.
I'm already lining up artists for the short stories which I will be writing and I really hope we get as far as $190K so we can have not one, not two but three brand new stories in The Few and Cursed universe!!

Time for another awesome Project Spotlight and I'm super stoked about this one, it looks absolutely gorgeous! They are really well funded with over 600 backers but still working towards their initial goal. I think it's right up there with The Few and Cursed's genre and style and when Geoffrey reached out to me I was more than happy to help him out with a Spotlight.

So apparently I will have to update you all every two days now... or I start spacing out the Stretch Goals announcements a bit more because you are most definitely on 🔥!!!
First off thank you so much for an incredible Kickstarter campaign, it is mind blowing to watch all of you pledging and getting excited about The Few and Cursed. We will really work our asses off to deliver the best experience and perks possible!
We have unlocked another batch of THREE STRETCH GOALS and some exciting new content for every package going out in the mail. First up:
I love these connecting cards. Imagine 9 cards set up in a 3x3 grid forming a single image, that's what this is. We have done a few of them in the past - previous sets will be available as add-ons when BackerKit Surveys are rolled out - and it gives me great joy to announce Brazilian artist and his distinctive style for this last set of 9 cards.
What you see above is the approved layout for the artwork featuring a dozen characters from The Few and Cursed universe. The end result will be a gorgeous fully colored artwork printed on Chromium thick card stock.
Every package sent in the mail now comes with a mini-print roughly the size of the book by a yet Artist TBA printed on Canvas texture paper stock. The idea here is to bring in an artist with a traditional style and make his art pop as if it was a little piece of a painting.
Last but not least we also unlocked yet another card of our Silver Signature Series, that makes it four cards in total to be shipped to backers from this campaign (Cards #5, #6, #7 and #8 out of a series of 9)
These were unlocked in a previous campaign and will be available as Add-Ons after the campaign ends. For this Kickstarter we will be printing cards 5 thru 8.
Laurie and I have cross-promoted and helped each other out before. She's a terrific creator with a number of Kickstarter campaigns under her belt and her latest is not only fully funded but has also unlocked some extras too.

As for Unthinkables, here's a short blurb from their own page: "Look... when every superhero on Earth suddenly drops dead, it can lead to some impulsive decision-making. We were visualizing this whole scenario where a ragtag bunch'a misfits would overcome their differences and pull it together in the third act. Works in sports movies, right?"
This looks absolutely fun and very much in line with the Redhead and The Few and Cursed. The Kickstarter campaign is already fully funded, which happened really early on, and they still have another 20+ days to unlock a number of Stretch Goals.
And it is an indie series that got nominated to a Ringo award! Here's a little something from their own page: "Snow White awakens to True Love's Kiss...twenty-eight days after the zombie apocalypse! With the seven dwarves dead, the quintessential fairy tale princess must join forces with her polyamorous Prince Charming and his tough-as-nails paramour, Rapunzel, to wage a losing battle against death itself."

Alright, I will make this short and sweet considering I've sent out an update merely two days ago which is both awesome and overwhelming :D
You are all amazing and you rock and thank you so very much for this amazing Kickstarter experience, I can't believe we have already unlocked all Phase 2 Stretch Goals already. Wow... really, wow!

THE ROAD TO $100K STARTS HERE!
No muss, no fuss, let's get to the reason behind this update and a big announcement I'm sure a number of you have been anxiously waiting for.
Please bear with me with all the Artist TBA messages and posts, I plan on doing an Update exclusively on artists in the very near future as soon as I have all of them locked down.
So here we go, without further ado, these are the next Stretch Goals we will be chasing:

This comic book looks absolutely gorgeous, I simply loved their previews and went ahead and backed it myself. They are so close to reaching their goal at about 80% and for a fantasy book this looks like a lot of fun.
From their own page: "The last dragon prince has been abducted and is kept prisoner by an unknown threat: AZTEC MEXICA. Helm Greycastle and his band of outsider adventures are tasked with exploring the uncharted land that was once at the brink of enslavement by the savage Spanish Conquistadors...but the Aztecs used sorcery to thwart the Conquistador's murderous rampage. The possible enslavement caused the ruler, Montezuma III, to declare himself the dictator of MEXICA causing a power shift and class division. Greycastle and his comrades are recruited by an underground group lead to overthrow Montezuma III and the Gods that suppress the land. Will Greycastle join the resistance or save the dragon prince and flee?"

Howdy, folks!
This Kickstarter continues on fire and we've rushed past another set of Stretch Goals putting us just one away from completely unlocking The Phase 2 Stretch Goals! Maybe it's time to start planning Phase 3?
Here's the newly unlocked Stretch Goals - including another METAL COIN!!!
I wish I could announce the artists lined up for all these cards we have unlocked so far and while I have locked down two of them I'm going to wait and share an update once the whole crew has been assembled.
Rest assured I'm bringing in some phenomenal talent to the fold, I'm ecstatic about it!!! Now... about that coin:
Returning backers already own previous coins we've released in the past - and which will be available as add-ons in the Pledge Manager - and it's fantastic to keep the collection growing. These are actual metal coins minted using a 3D model based on Fabiano Neves' design.
Fabiano draws up the coin, Firescale models it in 3D and I have them printed and minted in Greece. They look absolutely stunning in person, the photos really don't do it justice.
You all have been just the most amazing backers in the world and I really appreciate and thank each and every one of you. If we got this far so fast it's because you put in a pledge and helped us got here, thank you so much!
Mythopoeia is the publisher behind one of my favorite indie comic book series of all time - Skies of Fire - and when I saw they were doing their first RPG I had to check it out. I actually got to know and become friends with Ray Chou via Kickstarter.
It was one of those community aspects I always emphasize. I backed Skies of Fire, loved it and reached out to Ray. He got to know The Few and Cursed, backed it and loved it, some time later we were grabbing a beer during New York Comic Con.
The Wildsea RPG is fully funded at almost $80K raised and 1500 backers and it looks absolutely gorgeous. If you play and enjoy RPGs I highly recommend this one and here's a short blurb from their own page: "Set in a world overrun by greenery, Wildsea uses a narrative, fiction-first d6 dicepool system that draws inspiration from games like Belly of the Beast, Blades in the Dark, and 13th Age."
Like Father, Like Daughter #1-7: A Superhero Drama
Like Father Like Daughter is a comic book series by Kathryn Calamia or as I've met them Comic Uno. We actually met online a few years ago when I was first starting out in comics and reached out to Uno for a review of 321: Fast Comics Vol. 1 (which coincidentally is Red's first appearance).
Pretty cool to see we both have running Kickstarter campaigns and I'm able to return the favor for her awesome help back then. Her project is aaaaaalmost funded, really close, and because she's got so much time I have no doubt she will meet her initial goal and go beyond.
From her own page: "A father with superpowers, leaves his wife and daughter to become “Invulnerable” - the world’s only superhero. Ten years later his daughter discovers that she has inherited the very superpowers that made her father leave their family.
In our newest installment, Invulnerable has been kidnapped by the KGB - led by none other than Casey’s mother, Jessica Ryder. Casey never wanted to be like her father, but will Invulnerable’s kidnapping cause Casey to embrace her super heroic roots?"

Hey everyone!
Let me start this big update with a heartfelt and sincere THANK YOU! This campaign has been incredible and it's all thanks to every single pledge that has come in already. We still have a lot of time left meaning we can more than unlock every Stretch Goal in Phase 2 and perhaps even move over to a Phase 3, how amazing would that be, huh?
Over the weekend I received the art books Painting the World Red from the printer and they look absolutely stunning and huge. They have turned out to be coffee table books both in size and quality and I'm sure a lot of you will want to add these to your pledges or move over to tiers that include them.
In anticipation of some of you wanting to add the art book to your pledges I opened up a new tier at $135 that collects every single The Few and Cursed book ever published in their softcover editions. And I also would like to point out we do have combos with the Trade Paperback and the art book only at $73.
While the hardcover editions are completely sold out you can still the softcover with Fabiano's art on the cover to any pledge or tier!
The art books are 9x12in big with over 100 pages with every single pin-up and artwork ever produced of the Redhead. We are talking about art by Peach Momoko, Luke Ross, Will Conrad, Yanick Paquette, Clonerh, Ryan Ottley and many other fantastic names.

STRETCH GOALS UNLOCKED!
You have been amazing and knocking down Stretch Goals pretty much every day. We're actually coming up on another one as I write this Update and I'm already projecting we hit so it's included in the news below.
I honestly did not expect to hit these many Stretch Goals so early on so I'm playing catch up with all the artists I want to bring in to collaborate with all these collectibles we've been unlocking. Some are confirmed, some aren't but know that as soon as I have news and names to share you'll be among the very first to know.
The book is now 232 pages long!! Most of the artworks in the Gallery have been reveled already. I've been using them to promote this Kickstarter and throughout the campaign. Artworks like Wilton Santos & Ivan Nunes portrayal of the Redhead against a green backdrop or Sara Prado & Natália Marques' Red portrait with a full moon behind her used for the Stretch Goals Phase 1 board.
I've been talking with Jian Guo for a while now as I think a stained glass art style poster of the series would look incredible. Mind you it's not real stained glass, it's just the style. The mini-print will be a thick a glossy printout.
While I'm still locking down an artist for the back-cover of the Hardcover Collector's Edition (past artists include Clonerh, Hoang & Harvey Tolibao) the side "B" of the dust-jacket will feature a gorgeous artwork by Shadow Nation's artist Rui Silveira with colors by Marvel's Marcio Menyz!

WAHCOMMO: a sprawling dark fantasy graphic novel by Luis NCT
Magnetic Press is easily among my favorite publishers of graphic novels. Their line-up is always top notch in printing quality and the curation of projects by editor Mike Kennedy is of the highest quality, I really love their stuff.
I backed their latest book on Day 1, Wahcommo, as I was in love with the art and the premise that this is LOTR with a Nordic skew. They funded pretty quickly and went on to unlock multiple Stretch Goals, they are now going into their final 3 days on Kickstarter so if you like what you see pay them a visit sooner than later. Here's a short blurb about the book: "...WAHCOMMO offers an adventure filled with an exciting and unique visual style that mixes comic art with painterly brushwork and the cinematic scope of an animated feature. It's a bold narrative about determining one's own fate and defying social expectations."
Hoang Nguyen is a phenomenal artist. I thoroughly enjoyed the Carbon Grey series and it's awesome seeing he put together a hardcover art book celebrating this incredibly beautiful world he came up with.
You might recognize his name from this very Update as Hoang has collaborated with a Redhead piece of art before. His portrait is on the $53K Stretch Goal Unlock announcement. The art book is fully funded already and there are still 10 days left on the clock to unlock some exciting content. Go check it out even if it's just to drool all over the monitor seeing the amazing art posted over there.
Alright, huge update, took me a lot longer to get through it all but I think I did and here's hoping we continue to having these exciting updates with a number of Stretch Goals unlocked \o/
