Howdy, my friends!
This is one of those updates I write with gusto because it's all exciting news. First up I'd like to invite all of you to come check out The Few and Cursed latest graphic novel launching on Kickstarter next week on July 6th: HEART-SHAPED AMBITION!

The Few and Cursed: Heart-Shaped Ambition brings you the origin story of the pirate Captain Bartholomew first introduced to readers in Chronicles of The Few and Cursed.
He will be an important character moving forward with the TFAC universe and I couldn't be more excited to give him his own graphic novel and origin tale.
I developed the original story and brought in writer Carlos Estefan along with artists Pedro Mauro and Clonerh to deliver an absolutely stunning experience set about 200 years before the world dried up. It's a true pirate adventure book but true to The Few and Cursed lore with tons of supernatural and curse elements.
I'm proud of this one and I hope many of you jump on board when it launches on Kickstarter \o/
RED'S TRAVELS MAP
One of the extras unlocked via Stretch Goal to be sent to every backer getting a package in the mail was the map showing Red's travels all the way from Mountain View (issue #1) to San Andreas (issue #2) to Mana'Olana (issues #5 & #6).
The map is huge and will come folded in three. Not only that but we're also going to do red foil on it to highlight Red's journey and all points of interest. I'm really excited about this one!

PRINTING & SHIPPING UPDATE
The map was the very last thing my team and I needed to get completed as far as product design so all that is left now is printing - and most of it has been done already too. I'm currently talking to the printer in China to get a firm date on shipping it from China to the US.
As a fellow backer pointed out in the comments section it's been hard securing spots in freight ships so basically every week the printer tries to get cargo aboard a vessel but it's never guaranteed, transport companies are basically doing "first come, first serve" instead of securing reservations. It's causing massive delays.
I'm confident though our cargo will ship sometime in the next two weeks tops putting it in the US in early September. I plan on starting fulfillment immediately after receiving the goods.
I just hope I won't need another Operation Quesadilla/Guacamole in order to gain entry into the US... :/

I have some exciting news to share as far production is going for The Few and Cursed trade paperback but for the very last time allow me to share DARE #1 with you all. I know I've been drumming on this latest campaign a tad too hard but truth be told I really could use some help.
We're fully funded but have yet to start knocking some Stretch Goals down and we haven't even hit the 200 backers mark. For $20 I guarantee you'll get a pretty funny and gorgeous graphic novel shipped to your place.Â
It's a story with a lot of heart and that I am genuinely happy to help bring it into the world. So please if you could really do me a solid and come pledge, I'd really appreciate it =)
THE FEW AND CURSED COLLECTIBLE CARDS!
I'm so excited about everything Few and Cursed. The book is already in production and should actually finish printing in about a week, week and a half. Which takes us to the next step: all the extras we unlocked through Stretch Goals.
And, my friends, it's quite a LOT!
We're talking about collectible cards, bookmark, coin, sticker, the folded map, the list goes on and I don't want to repeat myself (just check out previous updates for details). It was quite a challenge to figure out all the quantities, technical printing details like paper stock, foil or no foil, matte or gloss lamination but I'm happy to announce that prices have been locked and I'm finalizing all the printing files to go into production \o/
And that's why I have previews!
Every backer that pledged towards a physical reward will get all of the cards above for free as part of their packages. These will be printed on card stock with gloss lamination on the front, silver foiling and a matte finish on the back with the artists' signatures also sporting a sweet looking shiny foil as well.
I thought it would take us a couple more Kickstarter campaigns to wrap up the Silver set but we did it, 9 cards out of 9. When we launch the next campaign we're going to start a brand new series while continuing to do cards for the Ruby and Emerald sets.
This one is among my favorites. Rafael Sam's humorous take on the The Few and Cursed characters will really pop in a silver card stock with holofoil laser printing and gorgeous green foiling on top of it. Past backers have gotten thematic 9-card sets and can attest to how beautiful these look in hand.
Again, if you pledged towards a physical reward you are going to get all nine of these.
It's worth noting that every backer will be getting a total of 19 collectible cards with their pledges. On top of the cards shown here you will get a Metal card, a second Ruby Series card featuring LaVerne and two Emerald cards as well.
As I'm shipping close to 2.400 packages, just do a quick math. That's almost FIFTY THOUSAND cards going out to all of you!
Yeah, fulfillment has been challenging but I'm incredibly proud of everything you all did for The Few and Cursed, I appreciate you all and thanks so much.

Hey everyone!
It's time to dive into the world of The Few and Cursed and tag along Red for a thrilling chase! At least digitally for now. The printer in China has told me production times have been averaging 30 to 40 days with freight shipping taking anywhere from 45 to 60 days depending how busy the transit lines and ports are.
I know, it's a long time, it didn't take this long in a pre-Covid world and I apologize for the lengthy wait we are all about to go through. In the past it would take around 60 days total for the exactly same process. But as always I will continue to keep you all informed as best as possible.
The worst villains are not in fiction. They are among us in the real world.
Before we get into the digital distribution details allow me to share the two Kickstarters I currently have LIVE and unlocking Stretch Goals. First up is One-Eyed Jack #2, the second volume in a four book mini-series developed by CSI creator Anthony E. Zuiker with me adapting it to comic book format and overseeing production.
One-Eyed Jack is going into its' LAST WEEK on Kickstarter having unlocked six Stretch Goals already and looking to unlock the last three for the ultimate rewards package with a bunch of extras. I'd really appreciate your pledge and help moving the needle on this one.

DARE is unapologetically your new favorite action-comedy guaranteed to make you laugh!
Another project I'm currently adapting into comic book format and overseeing production is DARE, my very first full on comedy and just a heck of a fun time all around. Developed by screenwriters Michael Seltzer & Charles BorgDARE #1 is the first half of a two-book series and much like OEJ is already fully funded as well.
We launched the Kickstarter a few days ago and it was awesome seeing it get funded so quickly but now we really need your support and pledges to really knock this one out of the park. DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION
As promised digital files have been sent via BackerKit directly to your Kickstarter registered e-mails. All files have been sent with download instructions but here are a couple of things to keep in mind:
1- Check your Spam. E-mails will come from BackerKit and they can end up in your spam or junk folder. Please search for any and all e-mails coming from BackerKit, please.
2- BackerKit Surveys must have been filed out. I still have 155 backers that have not filled out their surveys yet and without completed surveys no rewards will be sent - digital or otherwise.
If you haven't filled out your survey please click the link below and you'll immediately and automatically get an e-mail with the digital files as soon as you complete them:
If you haven't received the digital files it's probably because you haven't filled out your surveys. If you are still not able to retrieve your personal Survey after clicking the link above please contact me at [email protected] so we can get the good folks over at BackerKit on it.
Last but not least, everyone got their files in your e-mails you just need to find it in your inbox or junk folder. I will not send out any download links, digital distribution happens via BackerKit. It's the best way for me to protect the books and make sure everyone downloaded their rewards.

How is it going, backers?
Before we jump on The Few and Cursed news allow me to share a new graphic novel going LIVE tomorrow on Kickstarter titled DARE - a hilarious action-comedy written by two screenwriters which I had the pleasure of teaming up with to adapt it to graphic novel format.
DARE is colorful, loud, 80s action movie inspired, not really politically correct but funny as hell and I'm thrilled to introduce super cop Lucious Darren to the world. We will be offering the book in two different formats and covers (which you can check out below) and if you hit the link above you'll be able to learn more about it and sign up to be notified upon launch.
Back on April 15th I really thought I was getting ready to go to print but revisions, copy editing and final touch ups came and went and I still need a couple more days to finalize the printing files. We are close now and I apologize for this two-week delay on top pf everything that has happened already.
We are DEFINITELY going to print this week as there really isn't much else for us to tweak on the trade paperback. Truth be told everyone involved just wanted to put their best work on this, the trade is a a true dream come true for The Few and Cursed crew and we want it to be perfect.
DIGITAL DISTRIBUTION VIA BACKERKIT - NO EXCEPTIONS
I had a couple of backers reach out asking about the digital files. Digital distribution will happen a few days after we get confirmation from the printer in China they have began production. I've been busy with getting the book to print because that's the priority but as soon as that's running I will be sure to work on the digital content.
Yes, there will be EXCLUSIVE digital content available to every single backer so that's why I will need a few days to get everything ready. Please note digital distribution happens via BackerKit and BackerKit only, no asking for download links or for me to email you files, please.
If you've fulfilled your BackerKit Surveys you'll get an email with download instructions from them and that's the best way for me to make sure every backer gets their PDFs and other goodies.
Last but certainly not least I'd like to remind you all that One-Eyed Jack Vol. 2 is still LIVE on Kickstarter and welcoming pledges to help knock down some more Stretch Goals:
If you haven't yet please come pay us a visit. It's an important story and one Anthony E. Zuiker and I really want to exist out there in the world. The project is already over 100% and we're now looking to unlock as much extra content via Stretch Goals as possible.

I will make this brief and quick... First up I'd like to invite you all to come check out One-Eyed Jack Vol. 2 on Kickstarter (volume 1 also available). We launched the new campaign about a couple of hours ago and we're already halfway through our initial goal. You know what this means, right? Stretch Goals \o/
BackerKit Surveys will be locked down TOMORROW afternoon at 12:00pm PST!
If you don't complete your Surveys in time your nameWILL NOT be on the Thank You list and you might not get all the items you pledged for - especially those going for the collector's edition hardcover.
BackerKit is the only way I'm able to get precise counts for the most limited items, it's as simple as that, so if you pledged for the hardcover but didn't fulfill your Survey in time, yes, there is a risk of me downgrading your package without previous warning or refund.Â
Also, again, BackerKit is the ONLY WAY to provide a shipping address. Unfulfilled surveys will result in forfeit pledges.
